Diamond wire saw

ATP Hydraulik was assigned by the German company Siempelkamp NIS Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH for the co-development and construction of a diamond wire saw.

This machine will saw contaminated and highly radioactive large parts under water during the dismantling of the Mühleberg nuclear power plant. The several thousand tons of concrete, steel and cable internals have to be dismantled and packed for the final repository.

The nuclear dismantling of the Mühleberg nuclear power plant is planned for the years 2021 to 2024. During this period, the portal diamond wire saw will be used as an important dismantling instrument for several months. At the end of the period of use, the machine will be dismantled and sent to the designated disposal routes of the KKM.
